Program Manager, Investing in Inclusive Finance
Ms. Drake is program manager of the Investing in Inclusive Finance initiative of the Center for Financial Inclusion at Accion. Ms. Drake directs the Financial Inclusion Equity Council (FIEC), a membership organization of private entities that make equity investments in the developing world’s MFIs. Previously, she led Accion’s Financial Management Unit. Ms. Drake is co-editor of The Commercialization of Microfinance: Balancing Business and Development and the co-author of Alchemists for the Poor: NGOs as Financial Institutions. She is a faculty member of the Boulder Microfinance Training Program in Turin. Before joining Accion in 1990, Ms. Drake was a banking specialist at the World Bank and a commercial banker. She is a board member the Cambridge, MA-based nonprofit Root Capital and its Peruvian subsidiary, ACCDER. Ms. Drake is a graduate of Georgetown University and holds an MBA from Babson College. She speaks English, Spanish, and Portuguese.
