Shaheen Hasan

In her role as Principal Specialist, Shaheen works on the strategy, development and implementation of the Financial Inclusion 2020 project and related activities, namely through content generation, research and analysis, project management, and strategic partnership development.

Most recently, she was at the D2D Fund where she worked as an Innovation Strategist responsible for building cross sector partnerships and on the research, design and testing of pilot financial products and programs to help low income households build savings and achieve financial capability. Prior to joining D2D, she helped launch a Financial Inclusion Working Group at the Clinton Global Initiative for CGI America. She also brings international development experience to the table, including a consulting engagement with economic development agencies in Jamaica to conduct research on inclusive economic growth engines in Kingston, as well as for an Acumen Fund supported social enterprise that provides affordable housing for low-income communities in Pakistan. Prior to her work in financial inclusion and economic development, she held positions in marketing and business development in the private sector.

She holds a Masters in International Affairs focusing on Economic and Political Development from the School of International and Public Affairs at Columbia University and a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from the University of Maryland at College Park..
