The Center for Financial Inclusion regularly sponsors events (and panels at industry events) on a variety of financial inclusion topics with the intent to bring participants in the industry together to promote new ideas and to collaborate in tackling industry challenges.
The Center’s professionals also regularly speak at industry conferences on issues such as prospects for financial inclusion, client protection and avoiding overindebtedness, investing in inclusive finance, risk management and governance at microfinance institutions, access to finance for persons with disabilities, energy and microfinance, and more.

Microfinance and the Capital Markets Conference

Deborah Drake will be speaking in a panel on microfinance investment fund trends, returns, and equity valuations at the 10th Annual Microfinance and Capital Markets Conference. Hosted by Women’s World Banking, the annual conference brings together microfinance stakeholders from all over the world to discuss trends and opportunities facing the industry. This year’s event will focus on what it means to invest in client-focused institutions.

The theme of the expansive three-day CGI meeting is Designing for Impact: Designing for the Individual, Designing Our Environments, Designing Our Systems. Binational Forum about Human Rights of Persons with Disabilities
September 19-21, 2012, Tijuana and Ensenada, Mexico
Josh Goldstein will speak on Financial Inclusion for Persons with Disabilities at the Binational Forum about Human Rights of Persons with Disabilities. The forum is organized by Mexico’s Comisión Nacional de los Derechos Humanos and Pasitos, a national-level institution addressing the care of individuals with autism and with special needs in Mexico.
Convergences 2015 World Forum

Accion CEO Michael Schlein will speak on behalf of the Microfinance CEO Working Group at the Convergences 2015 World Forum, discussing the Global Appeal for Responsible Microfinance. Launched at the Forum, the Global Appeal is an initiative jointly led by the Microfinance CEO Working Group and Convergences 2015, aimed at motivating stakeholders to take further action towards financial inclusion and responsible finance.
