Balancing the Double Day: Women as Managers of Microenterprises
By Eliana Restrepo, Rebecca Reichmann - Published: 1995
This monograph examines the ways in which women simultaneously manage microenterprises and their households and identifies factors that enhance or constrain their efficiency in these dual roles. Nearly 700 microentrepreneurs, all clients of ACCION affiliate organizations in Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia and Guatemala, participated in the surveys upon which this study is based. The authors also offer recommendations for improving financial institutions in order to better serve women microentrepreneurs.
